Services

What to expect

I offer confidential counselling from a comfortable and private therapy room situated in Crossgates, just opposite the Arndale Centre. I also offer confidential counselling online as well if you would prefer to conduct the sessions from the comfort of your own home. Sessions typically last for 50 minutes and I am happy to offer a free, no obligation 30 minute phone consultation. This is an opportunity for us to discuss your needs and expectations, and how we might work together. My fees are £55 for in person and £50 for online and is payable 24 hours prior to each session. The length of time we work together is entirely up to you, and I do review our work at agreed times to ensure your needs are being met, and that you are receiving value for money.

If you choose to work with me, you will notice that you are at the centre of your therapy sessions. In a nutshell, this means you are the focus, and always will be. You choose what we discuss, what changes you want to make, and how you would like your future to look.

Building a positive relationship is the most important part of our work together, as this is what really helps you to make the changes you want. Ultimately my goal is for us to build trust, and for you to be able to be yourself and feel assured that you are not going to be judged in any way.

What I can help with

Sometimes life can be overwhelming and stressful, and the overall aim of our work together is to provide you with the opportunity to reach a point in life, where you are living in a more satisfying and contented way.

About Me

Qualifications/Career

  • Post graduate diploma in counselling and psychotherapy – Leeds Beckett University
  • Post graduate certificate in counselling and interpersonal skills – Leeds Beckett University
  • BA (HONS) in youth and community work – Leeds Beckett University

My passion for understanding people and wanting to help others is what led me into counselling. After spending years in managerial roles, I decided to follow my dream of working with young people. I spent time volunteering for local youth groups and progressed to a qualified youth worker and young person mentor in local authorities.

After a number of years I transitioned into social services where I still work today, and I believe this compliments my therapy practice; however I knew I wanted to work at a much deeper level, and be able to spend quality time really getting to know a person and exploring their fears, hopes and dreams together.

I have worked as a counsellor at a Leeds based faith charity with adults and young people, and also a Leeds charity who support young people aged 16 - 25 years old. I have significant experience of working with this age range, and I am passionate about empowering young people and supporting in what can be a very challenging time. I have a keen interest in working with single parents and women suffering from any form of abuse.

On a personal note, I am a Mum to two young children and in my spare time I enjoy reading, self-development and drinking lots of coffee!

As a registered member of the BACP, I actively seek out opportunities to continue my personal development. I will be providing on line therapy options in the Summer of 2020, if this is something that might be of interest to you.   I feel privileged to hold such a trusted position as a therapist, and you can be assured of a high standard of care when we work together.

Heal the past, live the present, dream the future
